Connect services and model providers

Open account Settings, then select Integrations to connect data sources, research tools, and compute services or Model providers to manage model access.

Check a service before connecting

  1. Open Settings > Integrations.
  2. Search for the service or filter by capability group.
  3. Select the service and read its Permissions and setup guide.
  4. Check the availability shown for your account:
StatusMeaning
ConnectYou can start setup.
Admin setupAn administrator must configure the service first.
Coming soon or UnavailableYou cannot connect it from this account.
PreviewThe integration is experimental and may change.

The catalog reflects the services available to your account. A service listed in the catalog is not necessarily ready to connect.

Connect a service

  1. Select a service with a Connect action.
  2. Follow the linked setup guide. Some services ask you to authorize Marvin on the provider's site. Others ask for an API key and service details.
  3. Grant only the access you need. Provider permissions still apply after you connect.
  4. Return to the service details in Marvin.
  5. Select Check or Test.

Saving a connection and verifying it are separate steps:

Connection statusMeaning
ConfiguredThe connection is saved but has not passed a live check.
ConnectingAuthorization is still in progress.
ConnectedThe latest connection check passed.
Needs attentionOpen the connection and follow the displayed reason.
Status unavailableMarvin could not load the current state. Retry before changing the connection.

Understand access and charges

The service details state what Marvin can access. Read them before you authorize the connection.

  • Storage and data services may limit access to a selected folder, bucket prefix, repository, database, or workspace. Other services inherit the access of the account or key you provide.
  • A read-only connection does not grant write access. Some collaboration, experiment, and compute services can edit content, start jobs, or use paid provider resources.
  • Controlled data still requires the provider's approval. Connecting the service does not grant access that your provider account lacks.
  • Provider charges remain subject to the provider account and plan you connect.

Use the provider's setup guide for its current credential type, required fields, and provider-side permission settings.

Choose model access

Open Settings > Model providers to review the model access available on your plan.

  • Managed access is included with supported plans and does not require you to add a credential.
  • Bring-your-own access lets an owner or administrator add a supported API key or subscription. Availability depends on your plan.
  • Owners and administrators can change the displayed provider order and the supported selection mode. Members can view and use the configured access.
  • Disabling an entry keeps its saved credential. Removing a credential deletes it; existing usage history remains.

After adding or reconnecting a credential, check its displayed status before starting research. See Plan and start research for run settings.

Choose compute funding

Some compute services offer more than one funding source. For Modal, the connection details can show:

  • Your Modal workspace: Modal bills the connected workspace directly.
  • Marvin's compute account: compute uses your Marvin balance.

A saved credential does not prove that compute is ready. Check the connection status, provider permissions, and the selected funding source before you start a run. See Plans, usage, and billing for Marvin balances.

Reconnect or disconnect

Open the service under Settings > Integrations.

  • Select Check or Test to verify the saved connection.
  • Replace or reconnect the credential when the service offers that action.
  • Select Disconnect to delete Marvin's saved credential.

Disconnecting in Marvin does not revoke access at the provider. If you want to remove access completely, revoke Marvin in the provider's security settings too.

For recovery steps, see Troubleshooting and support.

Connect Litmus Science

If Litmus Science is offered in your account, Connect is available after an administrator configures it for your Marvin environment. During connection, approve the access needed to create, view, update, and submit draft order requests. Account members share this connection.

If you declined a needed permission, select Update permissions on the existing connection. Marvin submits an order request only when the project owner selects Approve and submit in the study's Litmus panel.

See Prepare and submit a study with Litmus.

Receive project events with a webhook

Only the project owner can manage webhooks.

  1. Open project Settings > Webhooks.
  2. Enter a name and select Create webhook.
  3. Copy the endpoint and signing secret. The secret appears once.
  4. Configure the external sender before closing the secret dialog.

Use Refresh receipts to write accepted events into the project. This does not start research.

  • Rotate secret replaces the current secret immediately. Update the sender with the replacement shown once.
  • Revoke rejects new deliveries. Accepted event history and receipts awaiting project delivery remain available.
